Cristina began painting at an early age with the guidance of her tutor, the sculptor Jorge Yazpik. In 2001 she discovered the beauty of the Byzantine mosaic that her mother taught her and that she learned in Ravenna, Italy.
As a self-taught artist, Cristina has been discovering different materials over the years. This has led her to constantly experiment with handmade paper, golden smalti, color smalti, porcelain, ceramics, glass, fibers, silver and pigments.
She has been able to modernize her trade by combining and incorporating this materials to create a unique mosaic. Her inspirations come from nature and crafts around the world.
